GOALS
*Constant public engagement with a focus on theatre ideas and practise (the verb), logging developments and critically reflecting on the creative work in my area.
*Completion of two major script projects before the end of the first quarter, and in production for another (details forthcoming).
*Development of four major development/production pitches for the second half of the year. Offers of collaboration are welcome.
*Lobbying the marketplace for institutional change, namely:
1) Broader public discussion and audience engagement through online channels.
2) More in-depth arts coverage from traditional media outlets (see EXCELLENCE).
3) More equitable funding outcomes for grassroots and community theatre organisations.
4) Greater cultural diversity across our stages.
*G8 SUMMIT
With the imminent changes to the SNCP taking effect, all affiliated member organisations will report to the publicly broadcast “G8″ summit of performing arts professionals. There to discuss with a select group of advisors and journalists some concrete strategies for improving representational balances in production, improvements to funding models and broader questions such as “what do we want for Australian Theatre in twenty years?” There will also be fancy shirts.
As always we delight in feedback and suggestions. What are your theatre goals for 2013? Anything fun?
STAY TUNED FOR PART III OF THE EXCITING NEW SANCHEZ CULTURAL POLICY. ANY DAY NOW, POSSIBLY EVEN TOMORROW!
